Sustainability

Our aim is to be as gentle and ecologically minded to the planet as we can be, in all our operations.

Our sustainability statement reflects our dedication to making a positive impact on the world we share.

At Oceanic Woodstore, we are guided by a commitment to sustainability, we strive to weave environmental consciousness into the fabric of our business practices.

Reclaimed Wood, Renewed Purpose

At the heart of our commitment lies the use of reclaimed wood. By salvaging materials from historic sites, such as the iconic Brighton Pier in Sussex, England, we not only breathe new life into each piece but also contribute to the conservation of forests and the reduction of environmental impact associated with deforestation.

Circular Economy Advocates

We champion the principles of a circular economy, where waste is minimized, and resources are repurposed. Our dedication to crafting unique pieces from reclaimed materials aligns with a vision of sustainability that transcends traditional linear production models. Every item we create is a testament to the power of regeneration.

Local Artisanal Craftsmanship

Supporting local communities and artisans is integral to our sustainability ethos. Our furniture is crafted by skilled local artisans, fostering a sense of community, reducing carbon footprints associated with long-distance transportation, and contributing to the growth of sustainable businesses in our area.

Reducing Environmental Impact

We continually strive to reduce our environmental footprint by making mindful choices in our business operations. From eco-friendly packaging materials to energy-efficient practices, we seek innovative ways to minimize our impact on the planet and promote responsible consumption.

Our Packaging

Any packaging that we receive is recycled and reused for shipping orders and as void packaging filling. Plastic packaging that we receive is reused for packaging so it is kept out of landfill. We use plastic-free cardboard boxes rather than plastic mailing bags. Aiming to be a plastic free as possible.

Our Shipping

Our shipping couriers which are third parties – Yodel and Royal Mail. Yodel counts its fifth consecutive year of reducing its carbon footprint, with CO2 per tonne per parcel reduced by nearly 40%, despite volumes significantly increasing. Royal Mail has a plan to be Net Zero by 2040.

Transparency and Ethical Sourcing

Transparency is paramount in our journey towards sustainability. We are dedicated to providing our customers with clear insights into our sourcing and production processes. We prioritize ethical sourcing practices to ensure that every piece of wood we use has a positive impact on both the environment and local communities.

Empowering Conscious Consumers

We empower our customers to make informed and sustainable choices. Through our commitment to transparency, education, and the promotion of eco-conscious living, we aspire to inspire a community of conscious consumers who share our vision for a more sustainable and harmonious world.

Sustainability is an ongoing journey of improvement. We pledge to continuously assess and refine our practices, seeking innovative solutions that push the boundaries of sustainable design.
