Patio doors slamming shut in the wind are not just annoying—they can cause damage to the frame, glass, or even fingers caught in the way. Lightweight wedges or makeshift fixes simply don’t hold up. A solid oak doorstop gives you the proper weight and stability to keep doors open safely and securely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this Outdoors?

Yes! The durable construction and weather-resistant qualities of the oak make this door stop suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Transform your patio, entryway, or any indoor space with this versatile and functional accessory.

How do I look after my Oak Doorstop?

Maintaining this solid oak doorstop is simple. A periodic wipe with a damp cloth is usually sufficient to keep it looking pristine. For outdoor use, applying a wood treatment every year or two can help protect it from the elements, ensuring longevity and continued aesthetic appeal.

What are the dimensions of the doorstop?

The Solid Oak Extra Heavy Chunky Oak Doorstop measures either 20cm or 40cm height, and 20cm width x 10cm depth, making it suitable for all types of doors and entrances. The dimensions ensure it is robust enough to hold even the heaviest doors securely.

How are these sustainable?

New wooden sleepers are produced from trees that are grown as a crop. These are usually logged in a 120 year rotation. A number of oak species are used and the idea is to use the logs/parts of a log that are of the least quality to produce these rustic sleepers, much of which would otherwise end up as firewood.

The cracks, knots and other imperfections add considerably to the charm of this wonderful product as it gradually dries, weathers & seasons, again completing the carbon cycle in an environmentally friendly manner.

Our supplier of these oak sleepers is Certifed both with FSC®-C134890 and PEFC and also complies with the TDUK’s Responsible Purchasing Policy.
