A New Chapter for a Loved Table
Upcycling isn’t just about repair. It’s about transformation.
The Challenge
A customer brought us their dining table, originally from John Lewis. It had been part of family life for years, but they felt it was tired and ready for a refresh.
The Idea
Rather than replacing it, they wanted to transform it into a one-off piece. Their vision was to add resin art that would make the table unique and personal, while keeping its practical use at the heart of the design.
The Transformation
We worked with the natural lines of the wood to add a bold river of blue resin through the tabletop. The swirling layers in the resin caught the light, creating the effect of moving water against the wood’s natural grain.
The Result
The once-standard table now stands as a statement piece – functional, but also a piece of art. It’s been upcycled into something truly one of a kind, ready to continue as the centre of family life with a striking new identity.
And this table is proof that with a little imagination, the furniture you already own can become something extraordinary.
